Hello Everyone,

Here's your friendly reminder that we will not be having worship at First Presbyterian this Sunday (May 31). Please join us at Dallas United Methodist Church at 10:30 AM as part of our Polk Area Shared Ministries. A potluck will follow worship. YUM!!!

Pastor Ruth will be preaching, but I will be there to offer a children’s message. If you have any questions contact Liz or myself.

Also, May 31st will be our 5th Sunday to join our Polk Shared Ministry Churches.  It will be held at Dallas United Methodist at 10:30 with a potluck following the joint service.  We encourage all to attend.  There will be no service held at First Presbyterian.  The local mission supported during this service will be Creation Vacation. Attached is information about this program.

Creation Vacation is a 3-day vacation for families at Camp Magruder on the Oregon Coast.

These are families whose income keeps them from being able to enjoy much recreation or vacation time together. This experience is given at no cost to them. Transportation, food, and bedding are all provided, as are opportunities to enjoy all the usual camp activities or just hang out together as a family.

Eligible families are working toward self- sufficiency and family resilience.

Each family is accompanied by a Family Friend, a volunteer who guides them through the camp experience. Some Family Friends come back year after year and some former campers come back as Family Friends.

Putting on a camp like this is expensive. At our Polk County Ministries joint worship service on May 31st, we’ll have the opportunity to learn more and donate in support of Creation Vacation. OR write a check to Dallas UMC with “Creation Vacation” in the memo line.
