Hello Church Family and Friends,

We hope all is going well with you this summer.  We do hold our Oregonians who are facing the summer wildfires in our prayers. And of course the incredible firefighters!

Pastor Scott will return from his family vacation to provide for our services in August.

We welcome all to join us for our August 2nd Communion Service and a Social Time with 'goodies" following the service.

Emily and Jeremy are preparing some special music to share. 

From Pastor Scott while on vacation --

Nestled in the north Georgia hills, my father-in-law’s home looks out through oak and a few eastern white pines.  This time of year spider webs glisten with the early morning dew-condensation from the humidity.  There is no quiet time on the porch, as insects sing well into the night.

To find quiet time with God, one has to just accept that it includes the music of the woods.  A good reminder that we are fellow beings, creatures of our Creator, and that it takes the whole Community of Creation living in one balanced web of life to help all flourish.

Sunday, August 23, 3:30 to 5 p.m. at Christ’s Church, Monmouth: A workshop on protecting yourself from scams.  Presenters from the Polk County Sheriff, Columbia Bank, and Edward Jones will participate.  Mark your calendars and invite your friends!

Sunday, August 30-10:30 a.m. at Falls City UMC- Fifth Sunday Shared Ministry Worship and potluck- We worship with our siblings in Christ from Falls City, Dallas UMC and Dallas Presbyterian Church.  Lots of special music and a “trialogue” message from our three pastors, Rev. Ruth Marsh, Rev. Scott Crane, and Rev. Steve Mitchell (No, each pastor will not be given 20 minutes to speak!)
